Anime Story Line
Sailor Moon is broken down into five seasons.

Introduction
A thousand years ago, our Moon was home to a great civilization, ruled by Queen Serenity. Everything was peaceful, until the arrival of the evil Queen Baryl. "First the Moon shall be mine, then the Universe!"(Queen Baryl) To conquer the Moon, Queen Baryl released the awesome power of the Negaforce. Although her world was destroyed, Queen Serenity's last hope was the power of the emperiam silver crystal and the cresent moon wand. "Only this crystal and wand can destroy the Negaverse. Never let our enemies get them, or the universe is doomed! But most of all, you must protect our dear Princess Serena, understand?"(Queen Serenity) "Yes!" (Luna & Artemis) Frozen in moon beam crystals, the Queen sent the Princess, and the children of the Moon, to the future on Earth. Their memories lost to them all, the Queen's cat advisors - Luna and Artemis - must find the Princess, so that at last she will be safe. And so our story begins...
Sailor Moon
Sailor Moon is an Anime about a klutzy, crybaby, 14-year-old junior high school girl named Serena/Usagi. She receives special powers from a talking cat named Luna. Her Powers help her in her quest to fight evil and to find the "Moon Princess". With a locket Luna gave her, Serena turns into the sailor suited "pretty soldier" Sailor Moon. Over time, she discovers other Sailor Scouts/Senshi and another cat Artemis, who join her as a team, called the Sailor Scouts/Senshi.
She also runs into this guy named Darien/Mamoru and this a capped super hero named Tuxedo Mask/Tuxedo Kamen. Coincidentally enough, they happen to be the same person. Tuxedo Mask/Tuxedo Kamen appears constantly to save the Sailor Scouts/Senshi from the generals of the Negaverse/Dark Kingdom who, at first, begin stealing life energy out of people, then attempt to acquire the Imperium Silver Crystal/ginzuishou.
To everyone's surprise it is discover that Serena is the reincarnation of The Moon Princess, Princess Serenity/Princess Serena in addition to just being Sailor Moon. It also turns out that the Sailor Scouts/Senshi are reincarnations of the guardians of the Moon Kingdom, and that Darien/Mamoru is a reincarnation of Prince Darien/Prince Endymion, who was to marry Princess Serenity/Princess Serena. This adds a bit of romance to the series, but in the end, the Sailor Scouts/Senshi and Tuxedo Mask/Tuxedo Kamen are able to use the Imperium Silver Crystal/ginzuishou to *annihilate* the Negaverse/Dark Kingdom, but at the cost of their own lives.
Note: In the DIC translation, no one dies. Everyone just has their memories erased. Reportedly, the original makers of the series weren't sure if they were going to do a second season, and so they wanted to potentially end off the series with a bang. The way this works in the original is that the Sailor Senshi die, but their alter-ego secret identities live on to have a chance at a normal life.
Sailor Moon R: Romance, Revenge
The next season of the show starts, and everyone gets his or her memories restored, except for Darien/Mamoru (to the annoyance of Serena/Usagi). Two aliens, Alan/Ail and Ann arrive on Earth and start stealing people's life energy for a tree called "The Doom Tree." At the end of the saga we find out Moonlight Knight/Tsukikage no Knight (Who is Darien) is the split personality of Darien/Mamoru because he didn't get his memory back. The Moonlight Knight/Tsukikage no Knight was sent to help Sailor Moon, the same way Tuxedo Mask/Tuxedo Kamen helped Sailor Moon and the Scouts/Senshi when they where in danger. Serena/Usagi revives the Doom Tree by using her crystal and all's well.
Just when things start to get comfortable, all of a sudden a strange kid who looks an awful lot like Serena/Usagi falls out of the sky with a quest to find her mother and the Imperium Silver crystal/ginzuishou. She's Rini/Chibi-Usa, and she's from the future, but she didn't come alone. She's followed by some agents of the Black Moon/Negaverse (again!), namely Rubeus, and the four sisters, Catsy/Cooan, Berti/Beruche, Avery/Petz, and Prisma/Karaberas. In an interesting change from the usual, the Sailor Scouts/Senshi were able to heal the sisters of their evil rather than just kill them.
Soon after Rini/Chibi-Usa discovers that Serena/Usagi is really Sailor Moon and gets the Silver Crystal/ginzuishou. Rubeus finds her when she tries to get back to the future and starts to attack her. The Scouts/Senshi arrive and Rubeus captures them. Serena/Usagi gets the Silver Crystal/ginzuishou back from Rini and they manage to get onto Rubeus's ship. The Scouts/Senshi are freed and the Ship Destroyed, with Rubeus still on it.
At this time Esmeraude takes Rubeus's place. She is lead by Safiiru and Prince Demando on the Black Moon. The Scouts/Senshi figure out that Rini/Chibi-Usa is really from the future and plan to travel there with the help of Sailor Pluto who is introduced as the Guardian of Time. In the Future they meet up with King E/Endymion and Neo-Queen Serenity, Serena/Usagi and Darien/Mamoru of the future.
Rini is captured by Wiseman and turned into Black Lady soon after her arrival in the future. Safiiru learns of what Wiseman has planned and warns his brother before his death of what Wiseman was planning to do. Demando then realizing what had really happened saved Sailor Moon from Wiseman by taking his attack intend for her. He died, and then Sailor Moon destroyed Wiseman with Rini and Scouts help.
Sailor Moon S: Super
The start of the third season could be called a low point for the Scouts/Senshi. Serena/Usagi has lost the ability to transform and defeat the enemy. Who just happens for some odd reason to be after heart crystals. We all see two new scouts, Neptune and Uranus. Only they don't want to join the sailor team they are in it for themsevels. With the help of Darien/Mamoru, Serena/Usagi gets a new transformation and great power with a new wand. We also meet two new characters Amara/Hakura and Michelle/Michuri.
With this new enemy out for heart crystals the Scouts/Senshi are unsure of what they are really against. About the middle of the season guess who makes an apperance that's right it's Sailor Mini Moon/Sailor Chibi Moon. Rini/Chibi-Usa is back and she is a Sailor Scout/Senshi. Her mother sent her back to train with the soliders of the past. Rini/Chibi-Usa meets a special friend. Plus we see that third outer Pluto, who joins up with Neputne and Uranus. It is discovered that three pure hearts hold the key to the Scared Chalice, also that two of them are in Sailor Neptune and Uranus. Once Pluto is revealed the Sacred Chalice/Sacred Cup appears. Sailor Moon gets another new and stronger transformation and attack. At first it is questioned whether she is the Ambassador of Good.
Rini's/Chibi-Usa's special friend is Hotaru, she is a very weak child but still likes to be around Rini/Chibi-Usa and Rini's/Chibi-Usa's friends. Later Hotaru is revealed to be Mistress 9 (after taking Rini's/Chibi-Usa's heart crystal), who is supossed to help Pharoh 90 get into this realm. Pluto kills herslef to protect Neptune and Uranus. Sailor Moon protects Mistress 9 from Neptune and Uranus, she also protects her from Pharaoh 90, this is after she gives up the Scared Chailce/Scared Cup. Hotaru kills Mistress 9 and turns into Sailor Saturn the last Sailor Scout to be revealed. Saturn goes to battle Pharoh 90 sacrificing herself... only Moon doesn't want her too. With the help of the other scouts she transforms into Super Moon, she battles Pharoh 90 and saves Hotaru.
Just before Neptune and Uranus leave they challange Moon, because they think that what she did could have cost them everything. Only Moon proves to them that she is the future Queen and the Ambassador of Good. They leave, now it is Rini's/Chibi-Usa's turn only she really doesn't want to go. The girls give her a party only they don't realize she doesn't want to leave. Serena/Usagi bids her farewell just before the last and final enemy appears. The Scouts/Senshi put all they can into defeating her. Only Moon isn't sure they can since she can't transform. Sailor Mini Moon/Sailor Chibi Moon again reappears to help. Everyone tells Serena/Usagi to believe in herself and she defeats the final enemy.
